This traditional Highland cottage overlooks a sea loch and is in the west coast Sutherland village which lies between the Rivers Inver and Culag.

It is set on a slope, with the front garden facing out to sea. You can sit on a terrace at the top for the view. The back garden opens through a gate onto the hillside.

"The cottage was absolutely brilliant, spotless and very well equipped, the best we have ever stayed in. We had a terrific holiday and the weather was superb. We saw our first otter near Kylesku and lots of other wildlife and I climbed three Munros, plus Suilven and Stac Polaidh."  - Satisfied visitor

What's inside?

The house has two floors.  On the ground floor there is a sitting room, a bathroom with bath and shower, a kitchen-dining room and a utility room.  Television and DVD player are supplied.

Kitchen facilities include a fridge-freezer, electric cooker, toaster and kettle. A simple microwave oven and a dishwasher are provided. In the utility room there is an automatic washing machine and tumble drier.

On the second floor there are three bedrooms and a toilet with wash hand basin and shaving point.  All beds are three-foot single beds. In the green bedroom there are three beds, in the pink bedroom two beds and a cot and in the third bedroom one bed.

Bed linen can be supplied for a nominal charge (£3.50 per person).   The beds will be made up for you.   Blankets are to be found in the chest in Bedroom 1 but all beds are supplied with duvets and two pillows.

If you wish to bring linen you will find the the pillows and duvets each have their own covers but these serve only as protection. You would need your own pillow cases and might wish to take your own duvet covers or to use sheets.

Pets are welcome provided they do not lie on the beds and chairs. A dog bed is stored under the cot.   Please use a "pooper scooper" in the garden.

Heating is largely electric with an immersion heater for the hot water supply. Storage heaters give background heat and can be supplemented by fan heaters and a panel heater. In the sitting-room there is a coal or wood burning stove.

Double glazing cuts out draughts and reduces heat wastage.

You are requested to read the electric meters on arrival and departure and to calculate consumption on the basis of Scottish Hydro-Electric charges.

Cars may be parked in the car park on the opposite side of the road from the cottage. Buses leave from there also . Bus services run between Inverness and Lochinver and further information can be obtained from Lochinver Tourist Information

Groceries can be bought in the village, though cannot be ordered in advance.
